Welcome to Stoney Point High School!
Where every student can and will be successful.
– George Padgett, Principal
Stoney Point High School is a continuation high school in the Los Angeles Unified School District, which provides a small, alternative learning setting to students who attend Chatsworth High School as well as other students in the West San Fernando Valley. Our dedicated, highly qualified staff at SPHS serves approximately 160 students in grades 9-12.
SPHS is fully accredited through the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). All core curricular classes are aligned to California Common Core Standards (CCCS). Students meet all LAUSD graduation requirements, including minimum California State University (CSU) admission requirements (A-G), to earn a high school diploma at SPHS.
The philosophy of SPHS is that every student who wants to achieve and learn, will!
Our caring teachers and professional staff understand that students have various learning styles and needs. Students at SPHS are given the opportunity to work at their own pace while being encouraged to complete courses in a timely manner to earn their high school diploma and to move on to higher education or whatever the student’s post high school plans may be. Frequent support and guidance is provided to all students as they achieve their educational goals. Upon enrollment, an Individual Graduation Plan (IGP) is discussed with the principal and/or counselor. The IGP is then implemented and monitored on a regular basis.
There is an “open door” policy at SPHS, as parents/guardians are always welcome to come in to discuss their student’s academic progress and IGP and to receive updates on what is happening at SPHS.
