School Policy and Procedures

School begins daily at 7:30 AM, and students are expected to be on time and ready to learn.  Students who arrive at 8:30 AM or later must attend detention after school. Any student who violates school rules or policies may be given detention by any staff member. When a student is assigned detention, he/she must attend a teacher’s class for 40 minutes after school (12:50-1:30).

SPHS uses a Card Color/Time on Task Card system.  Students begin their day at 7:30 AM and have a flexible dismissal time as determined by their achievement.  Points are tabulated each week to determine which card color the student is on.  Points are recorded on a Daily Point Sheet then tallied weekly on the student’s Individual Graduation Plan (IGP).

Gold Card = 25+ points
Silver Card = 20 – 24 points
Bronze Card = 20 points or less

Students on Gold or Silver Card have flexible dismissal times:

Gold Card Dismissal:  11:40 (beginning of lunch)
Silver Card Dismissal:  12:00 (end of lunch)
